About Us
Introduction

Welcome to the Blue Crush Volleyball Club’s 2nd Season. Blue Crush Volleyball Club was brought about with our initial team in 2008. We were a recreational team that wanted more competition. We played our first tournament in 2008 and hungered for more. We now have 6 teams, with the interest for us to add more, but feel growing slowly is what’s best for our Club.

Blue Crush Volleyball Club, going forward known as BCVBC and Blue Crush, will be governed by a board of directors made up of elected parents, a Director, Assistant Director, Treasurer and Secretary. We are recognized as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.

We have put this handbook together to tell you about Junior Olympic Volleyball in general and BCVBC, its philosophies, and what it takes to become a successful volleyball club. We are very excited that you have chosen Blue Crush as of your 2010 Club season.
Blue Crush Mission Statement

We, The Blue Crush Volleyball Club, are committed to providing the best possible environment for our volleyball players to reach their maximum playing potential through excellence in coaching, and community and parental support. Our players will be challenged to excel not only for their own personal growth but also for the betterment of their teams, and the BCVBC.

Our commitment to each and every girl with the potential to succeed is that they will not be turned away regardless of ability to pay. We believe that active, talented and determined players are not given the fair opportunity elsewhere to play Junior Olympic Volleyball due to their inability to afford the fees associated with playing JO Volleyball and through fundraising and payment plans we will help them get there.

BCVBC will support all Regional Teams this year with the potential to go National. We, BCVBC, will have Club Teams for our 17U, 16U, 15U, 14U and 13U teams to support our growth development and goal to move to the Open Status for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Our teams will be registered with the Pioneer Volleyball Region.
Committee Members

Blue Crush will consist of a panel of 11 committee members and 6 coaches for the 2009-2010 seasons. The panel will be elected by the parents of each team and we will meet within the month after election is complete. Because we have 6 teams we have elected a 7th parent to make the committee uneven for voting purposes. The panel will meet once a month throughout the season to guarantee we are following our Mission Statement, to get updates from coaches and committee members. If there is a pressing issue that needs to be addressed, such as a grievance, budget issue, or team issues etc., the Director can call a special meeting of the committee.  Any suggestions should go through your elected committee member and it can be brought to the table at the monthly meeting. If the suggestion is time sensitive, please let your committee member know and we can determine if a special meeting needs to be called.
